Donations

Covid had a devastating affect on so many in Vietnam, overnight people lost their means to provide & hunger soon set in. On becoming aware of this, Trevor initiated his team to help out providing foods to those in need.  It did not take long to realise the situation was far more severe than imagined & what was thought to be a manageable task soon turned into a massive operation on a huge scale.  Trevor & his team never relinquished & tirelessly pushed on to provide to thousands of people in need.  They donated 1000s of meals over 3 months across 12 districts of Saigon.  A truly impressive effort that saved lifes & displayed compassion on a scale very rarely seen.  True heroes that we thank & hope to be able to donate to again.  A sincere thank you to Trevor & all of the team.  1 million VND was donated by Saigon Thrift.

I became aware of Children Of The Mekong on paypal & am a greater believer in education for all so we made a donation of 300,000 VND.

Shop Of Hope is a worthy cause that we plan to donate to monthly.  Our donations have consisted of items that we feel they can sell easily in their shop or items that they can use for training or workshops.

Pay them a visit, donate some unwanted items, make a purchase (they have a wide selection of books) & are a very worthy cause that deserves our support.

Saigon Thrift sent a suitcase containg clothes, bedding, towels & 400,000 VND.  Although not a lot, we hope it was some support to the 490 families & around 800 children in urgent need of help. This donation was made through Daniel Vo of Daniel Vo Computer Repair Services in Thao Dien, thank you Daniel for your ongoing efforts to help those in need & for making us aware.

The Hope Centre operate orphanages in central & northern Vietnam & we were told they were in need of 'everything' for the 130+ orphan children.  Saigon Thrift put together a donation of clothes, kitchen utensils, cups, towels, bedding, toys & random items that we felt would be of use plus a token amount a cash.  In total 3 boxes full + 1 suitcase full were donated & we look forward to donating again.

Laws For Paws is a fantastic effort to save & rescue dogs in dire straits.  An amazing amount of dedication & effort is devoted to rescuing dogs & rehoming them.  It is no simple feat & Saigon Thrift were proud to donate 25% of all sales for 6 weeks.  We were able to donate 2.050,000 VND plus some towels & dog toys.  Laws For Paws is a cause which we will donate to on an ongoing basis.

For the month of February & March we donated 15% of all sales to One Body Village & Project Lotus by sponsoring Adrian Leong with his Spartan Walk to raise money for victims of sexual abuse.  As his race was underway before our collection period, we went ahead & donated 1 million VND to this heartbraking cause, we hope to be able to donate more at the end of March. 1,930,000 donated in total.

On seeing a facebook post we reacted & donated clothes, shoes, blankets & some toys to underprivaleged children in Ha Giang.  The collection was organised by Lý Ngọc Mai Trâm & we're happy we could help in some way.  Well done, your effort to help is great to see.

For a long time I have been appreciated the tireless efforts by CJ to help cats in need of homes, medical help & rescuing.  Over the years she has rescued countless cats & deserves recognition & thanks.  Saigon Thrift hopes our donation can help AWAsome in some way.  A total of 1,930,000 VND plus towels were donated, thank you CJ, you're cat devotion is an inspiration!

Vietnam has a huge number of cats in need.  Being cat lovers, we decided a donation to Vietnam Cat Welfare was an overdue act.

Blue Dragon is a very well known charity who have raised vast amounts & helped countless children.  A donation from us was the least we could do & we hope to donate more soon.
